Advocacy work to integrate SRHR in the post-2015 agenda

The High-Level Task Force for ICPD is an independent body created in 2012, and Gestos is one of its members. We have recently launched in New York our police recommendations for the processes that will culminate with an UNGASS in 2014 and with the definition of the post 2015 new strategic development goals. There are many areas where we integrated HIV in  the Policy Recommendations.

Please include this position paper in your advocacy work with your own governments. It contains relevant language for the integration of HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

“While we are encouraged by the achievements of ICPD implementation, the challenge is that too many people around the world are still denied their sexual and reproductive health and rights. These fundamental freedoms and human rights lie at the very core of human dignity.”

H.E. Tarja Halonen, former president of Finland, co-chair of High-Level Task Force for ICPD
