partnership dedicated to attracting and disbursing additional resources
to prevent and treat the three diseases. To date, it has committed US$

treatment and care programs. It is the most import source of funds for
the HIV/AIDS prevention and care and it also enables countries to
strengthen health systems by, for example, making improvements to
infrastructure and providing training to those who deliver services.
CCM -
At country level, the most important structure of the Global Fund is
the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) is a partnership com¬posed of
all key stakeholders in a country's response to the three diseases. The
CCM does not handle Global Fund financing itself, but is responsible for
submitting proposals to the Global Fund, nominating the entities
accountable for administering the funding, and overseeing grant
implementation. The CCM also serves in many countries as an important
political space for Civil Society to monitor and advocate governments
and agencies for an improved HIV/AIDS country response.
