Universal Access to Female Condoms (UAFC), a non-profit partnership based in the Netherlands, has launched an exciting new campaign in support of female condoms.

Did you know that, right now, only one third of one percent (0.3%) of all condoms distributed globally are female condoms?

Clearly, this is problematic not only for women who want to use female condoms vaginally but also for men and women who would like to use them for protection during anal sex. They are highly effective for anal protection and are often used that way in areas where they are readily available.

UAFC is launching an advocacy campaign to create massive chains of paper doll chains from around the world to demonstrate support for female condoms. We are inviting NGOs worldwide to mobilize women and men to write messages on the paper dolls (which UAFC provides) about why female condoms are important or why they need or want them.

These chains will then be displayed at the United Nations General Assembly High Level Meeting June 8-10 in New York City. These dolls will create a stunning display that contains a powerful message: people worldwide want access to female condoms.

Please click here to read more about the Campaign, how you can participate in it, and the competition through which one free trip to the Netherlands will be provided to an NGO representative from each of the three countries producing the most completed paper dolls.

We can't afford to remain silent about the huge, unmet need for access to a proven HIV prevention tool that could (with greater investment) be in the hands of men and women all over the world who urgently need it. Thank you and please come make paper dolls with us!
