FEIM - Fundación para Estudio e Investigación de la Mujer

The Foundation for Women’s Study and Research (FEIM) is a NGO funded in 1989 by a group of women specialists in gender issues. Its main goal is to develop researches, studies, programs, projects, courses and other activities to improve women’s social, work, legal, political, economic, family and health conditions in Argentina. FEIM has developed programs and projects on Women’s Rights, Women and the Environment, Elderly People, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Teenage Pregnancy, Sexuality, STD and HIV/AIDS. http://www.feim.org.ar/

 
BELIZE

Alliance against AIDS

The Alliance Against AIDS was founded in 1997 and offers helpline and counseling services to those affected with HIV and AIDS. They also do pre-test and post-test counseling, as well as educational seminars and events.


BRAZIL

Gestos: HIV+, Communication and Gender Issues

Gestos was founded in 1993, with the objective of defending the human rights of HIV-positive individuals and populations vulnerable to STDs and HIV/AIDS.  The institution produces and utilizes knowledge in various fields, acting in the areas of Education, Communications and Public Policy from the perspective of sexual citizenship, gender equity and social justice.

Its interdisciplinary team is comprised of sociologists, journalists, social workers, psychologists, lawyers, teachers, anthropologists, educators, and professionals in international relations.

 In addition to programs developed in conjunction with low-income populations, Gestos monitors and influences public policy. Its sphere of influence effectively reaches the spaces dedicated to monitoring public policy at local, regional, and international levels. www.gestos.org

Gapa/SP – Grupo de Apoio à Prevenção à AIDS

GAPA/SP is an institution that is part of the GAPA national network, which aims to defend the Human Rights of PLWH and to integrate them in the society. GAPA/SP realizes lectures and training programs on HIV/AIDS; develops projects with sex workers, women, construction workers; art workshops, provides legal assistance for PLWH and also promotes social work. www.gapabrsp.org.br/index_english.html

 
CHILE

Acción Gay

Funded in July 1987 under the name “Corporación Chilena de Prevención del SIDA” (Chilean Corporation of AIDS Prevention), it was the first community based organization in Chile that, from a transforming and Human Rights centered perspective, seeks to reduce HIV/AIDS transmission and the epidemics impacts on the gay population. http://acciongay.cl/

 
KENYA

Kenya Agriculture & Health Improvement Initiative (KAHII)

KAHII is performance based and result oriented group, multi dimensional communications and health delivery Civil Society Organization. It was founded in the year 2000 and registered as a community based organization with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Heritage and Sports in the year 2003 by a group of 5 doctors and Pharmacists in order to fight HIV & AIDS and other tropical diseases inKenya. Its primary thematic area of operation has been HIV prevention and health improvement; strategic communication, sexual reproductive health research, HIV & AIDS Training education. The organization fosters positive living practices; promotes and sustains individual, community, and societal behavior change; and maintains appropriate disease prevention and treatment techniques.

Via Libre

THAILAND

Raks Thai Foundation

Raks Thai Foundation was established on August 15, 1997 as a registered non-profit organization under Thai laws. The development work of Raks Thai carries forward 20 years of CARE Thailand programming that began in 1979, initially responding to the Cambodian refugee influx along the Thai borders, and eventually broadening to other sectors of development. UGANDA

Uganda Network on Law, Ethics and HIV/AIDS (UGANET)

Established in 1995, the Uganda Network on Law, Ethics and HIV/AIDS (UGANET), is a non-governmental organization that brings together organizations and individuals with a keen interest in advocating for the development and strengthening of an appropriate policy, legal human rights and ethical response to HIV/AIDS in Uganda. UGANET was formed after the recognition that the national response to HIV/AIDS in Ugandahad failed to recognize the importance of protecting human rights in preventing the spread of the HIV virus and interventions for the care, treatment and support of persons living with and those affected by HIV/AIDS. www.uganet.org

 
UKRAINE

All Ukrainian Network of PLWH

All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH worked a difficult way up from the small group of activists to the most successful national organization of PLWH. In August 2007 Network became one of the Principle Recipients of the Global Fund Round 6 Grant. Its current activities include: providing care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS ; improvement of the system of legal services providing by regional departments of the All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH; Scaling Up the National Response to HIV/AIDS through Information and Services (SUNRISE); improving the professional level of the All-Ukrainian Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS; development of the regions; equal opportunities for people living with HIV/AIDS; advocating and lobbying the rights of HIV-positive children; prevention of abandonment of children born to HIV-positive mothers (MAMA+). http://network.org.ua

ASEPO Asociación de Ayuda al Sero Positivo (Help Association for Serumpositives)
